ePrescribe Has Been Re-Enabled
Munson Healthcare has been re-enabled for all Cerner users.*

Key Points

  • Although many pharmacies can now accept e-scripts, Meijer and Costco still cannot accept e-scripts.

    • Please update your workflows to NOT send e-scripts to Meijer and Costco, otherwise they will fail.

    • Failed scripts will need to be cancelled and resent to an alternate pharmacy. If you are unable to cancel and resend, providers can call in emergency CII prescriptions to a retail pharmacy if a handwritten and manually signed prescription is delivered to the pharmacy by certified USPS mail with return receipt within 7 days.

  • For pharmacies unable to accept e-scripts, providers should print prescriptions and sign with ink to meet State of Michigan requirements. Prescriptions, except for Schedule II medications, can be faxed once they are signed.

    • We are aware not all offices have enough watermarked paper and prescription pads on hand and are working on a solution for Munson-employed offices.

    • Please note, we are hearing individual pharmacies are choosing what printed and faxed prescriptions they will and won’t accept.

  • We are developing resources for providers and staff, including FAQs and talking points for patients.

We continue to closely monitor this situation. Look for daily updates until this issue has been resolved.
