In 2007 one of our very own, Tammie Budrow, lost her 8-year-old daughter Carly to a tragic sledding accident.
Determined to raise awareness of the life-threatening risks that winter snow sports can pose for kids, Tammie started Chill Out for Winter Safety – a one-of-a-kind program that teaches kids the four rules of winter recreation with the help of program mascot Beary Careful.
We are so proud to support this courageous mom and her award-winning program. Please take a moment to listen to Tammie’s powerful story and learn more about how this incredible program helps keep our kids safe during winter sports like ice skating, sledding, and more.
As part of our commitment to support thriving communities, Munson teams up with Chill Out and other community partners and donors to provide free winter helmet fittings and helmets to hundreds of kids.

Foster Family Primary Care Now Open
Munson Healthcare has expanded your primary care options in Traverse City! The new Foster Family Primary Care clinic (located within the Foster Family Community Health Center at 550 Munson Ave.) is open Monday through Friday. Munson Healthcare Foster Family Primary Care offers acute care, family care, and minor surgical and skin procedures. This convenient location also offers patients easy access to lab, pharmacy, and radiology services.

Upcoming Events at Munson Healthcare
Learn how to protect your young ones from winter injuries at one of our upcoming Helmet Safety Clinics – offered by the Munson Healthcare-sponsored Chill Out for Winter Safety program. The Winter Chill Out Team will be slopeside to share the top ways to protect your young ones from preventable winter sports injuries, including complimentary fittings to make sure your child has the best protection from head injuries. Need a helmet? Munson Healthcare will also be handing out free children’s helmets while supplies last.
