Munson Announces Petoskey Community Health Hub Proposal
Munson Healthcare is announcing a proposal to establish a Community Health Hub in Petoskey to increase access to award-winning patient care in the area. The proposal is part of our recently-announced Regional Care Transformation Plan which is focused on preserving care close to home and expanding the services patients want more of in northern Michigan — such as outpatient and primary care.
“The proposal would make it easier for patients to receive outpatient services including x-rays and blood draws, and expand primary care, urgent care, and outpatient specialty physicians including orthopedics,” said Laura Glenn, Chief Operating Officer of Munson Healthcare. Cadillac Hospital Family Birth Center Arranges Impromptu Wedding
Earlier this fall, expectant mother Miranda Geer and her fiancé Mike were expecting two milestone celebrations: their wedding, followed by the birth of their baby. But the couple's plans quickly changed when Miranda was admitted to Munson's Cadillac Hospital Family Birth Center due to high blood pressure, and her provider recommended that labor be induced for the safety of both Miranda and her baby.
Marrying before their new baby was born was very important to the couple, and their birthing team quickly pitched in to honor that wish, organizing an impromptu wedding in Cadillac Hospital's chapel – complete with navy blue scrubs, a wedding bouquet, and cupcakes from the Food and Nutrition staff for the couple and their guests to enjoy. Miranda and Mike were thrilled that their birthing team jumped at the chance to create such a memorable experience for them.
