One Patient Record: Wave 2 End User Education Plan Update

One Patient Record: Wave 2 End User Education Plan Update
02.14.2024

The Wave 2 End User Education planning is well underway! Classes will be offered from July 29 – September 6. With Wave 1 users' feedback and provider leadership's input incorporated in the current planning, the revamped education approach aims to increase users’ learning experience, and effectively apply the knowledge they gain from education classes to their functional work on the first week of the Wave 2 launch.

Highlights of the Wave 2 Education Approach:

  • Setting focused – Ambulatory vs. Hospital/Emergency Department vs. a mix of both.
  • Role-based by functional group – Providers, Nursing, Clinical Support Team, Clerical Team, Referral Management Team, Ancillary Team, Revenue Cycle Team, etc.
  • Solution and specialty expansion – Surgery/Peri-Op (SurgiNet), General Lab/Micro/Blood Bank/AP (PathNet), etc.
  • Cerner experience – No Cerner experience vs. Cerner Community Works experience vs. Cerner Millenium experience.
  • Multiple modalities – Instructor-led interactive hands-on classroom classes, instructor-led virtual classroom classes, self-paced digitally enabled learning courses, job aids, etc.

Wave 2 education assignments will be available in HealthStream in mid-April. That timeframe is subject to change based on various build and operational decisions. Please be aware that the in-person classes are on a first come, first served basis, so please sign up for the class time and date you want to ensure availability. More information will come in the upcoming weeks!
